We had a great day together!
We started with morning work (again focusing on hidden partners, numbers before and after, counting by 10's). We then went right into morning message and calendar (focusing on the letter Ll, /l/ sound, and our new sight word - and). Calendar was filled with singing, counting, place value, and graphing. We then published our Monday Daily News.
We had to do indoor recess due to the cold temperatures.
After recess we had reading groups. Group time focused on the /l/ sound, blending, ABC books, sight words, and listening.
After groups, we did some conference prep work and read our Alpha Tale book. We also did our picture guess - all pictures started with the Ll sound.
Our afternoon was filled with lunch, recess, math, PE, snack, show and share, quiet time, recess, and free choice centers.
One other special activity we got to do today was listening to our 4th grade buddies read their narrative stories. They are amazing writers and really impressed us!

4. If you haven't yet done so, please log in to pickatime.com and schedule your child's conference.
5. Please help your child make a Valentine's box. Remember, this can be super simple (a large piece of paper folded in half and stapled on the side OR something fancy). Just do what works for your family!
6. We will pass out and read Valentines on Feb. 14 (10:15-10:50am). If you'd like to join us, we can always use help passing out Valentine cards and reading cards. You are welcome to send in/bring a treat to share (just let me know so I can set up a place for it). Just a loving reminder that we are NUT FREE, meaning absolutely NO nuts in our classroom. Thank you for being considerate of this!
7. Feb. 20th is the 100th Day of School!!! If your child would like to, they can dress up as their 100 year old self. No pressure, though! :)
