We had a wonderful day!
We started with our morning work (#3) and met at the reading area for a whole group reading lesson (focusing on reading with expression, using picture clues, and our sight word "the"). We then did our calendar, morning message, and Daily News routine before going outside for recess.
After recess, we went right into reading groups; where the kiddos focused on letter ID, letter sounds, characters, retell, our sight word ("the"), handwriting, and listening (Pumpkin Town).
Once groups were over, we finished up our independent opinion write about our favorite apple (yellow, green, or red) and began talking about "taking away from a group" in math.
Our afternoon was packed with lunch, recess, science, phonics practice, music, snack, show & share, quiet time, and free choice centers.

1. Take Home Books are due tomorrow.

4. If you haven't already, please email me if you'd like to join us on our Dec. 14th field trip! For safety and space reasons, we cannot have siblings join us on the field trip. Thank you for understanding!
5. Please send in $10 cash for your child's field trip lunch. I will collect all the money ahead of time and then make little field trip bags for each child (with their money inside).
