Happy Tuesday!

Our targets for the day were:
Target #1. I can write my opinion.
Target #2: I can take one away.
Target #3: I can answer questions about the story.

We started our day together labeling the parts of a pumpkin. We then transitioned to writing, where the kiddos had to give their opinion about which pet was best (dog or cat), along with a reason (Target #1). Thankfully, we were able to go outside for recess! The kiddos needed to run and they loved every second of it! After recess, we did our math - focusing on taking one away (Target #2). In addition, we also really focused on writing our numbers correctly. We then moved on to reading groups, where the kiddos worked on sight words, the /p/ sound, ABC books, writing the letter Pp, and listening (Bear Feels Sick). Lastly, we read a book together called Friends All Around, answering questions at the end (Target #3).

Just a heads up, our Veteran's Day Assembly is next week on November 10th. Our kindergarten students will be singing two songs at the assembly. Students are welcome to invite family or friends who are veterans to join us in recognizing Veteran’s Day on Thursday, November 10th, at either 10 a.m. with our primary students (AM-K, 1 and 2) or at 2:00 p.m. with our intermediate students (PM-K, 3, 4, and 5). If possible, please send your child in patriotic colors (red, white, and/or blue).
