Tuesday News

Welcome back! I hope you had a very restful and relaxing weekend with your family!
We started our day with a math (ten frame) activity. We then transitioned right to our reading groups, where the kiddos worked on decoding, ending sounds, ABC books (Dd), the sight word "for", and listening (Have Fun, Molly Lou Melon). After groups, we went outside for recess. Thank you for continuing to send warm clothes. It's still pretty chilly! Once recess was over, we did calendar, Daily News, and introduced our new letter of the week (Dd) and the /d/ sound. We ended our time together with a picture of each kiddo standing next to Abe Lincoln.

Important Information:
1. Homework folders came home today (2-16-16).
2. The 100th Day of School is this Friday, February 19th! I did tell the kiddos they could make a 100 Day Shirt if they wanted to (someone brought up a shirt they'd seen on Pinterest.). No pressure, though! I don't think my child will have one. ;)
3. If they haven't already, students need to fill their plastic 100 bag with 100 things and bring it back to school. Items that work well are buttons, legos, small marshmallows, stickers, beads, etc. Please help your child as they count and fill their bags with their chosen item.
4. Grandparents Day is March 18th from 8:15-9:00am for both AM and PM kinders!
