Terrific Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday!
After doing our welcome and attendance routine, we did more Happy Camper interviews. After listening to the interview answers, we practiced writing the Happy Campers' name and made them a special book to take home. As I said yesterday, every student will have a chance to be the Happy Camper. We continued to practice our counting skills, place value, graphing, and number identification at our calendar time. After working on our Daily News (classroom newspaper), we learned all about the letter Bb and the /b/ sound. We then transitioned to math, where the kiddos worked on sorting objects based on their different traits. Finally, we ended our day with a lesson about concepts of print (where's the cover of a book, what page do we start with, how do we read sentences, etc.).

Important Information:
1. Our cookie dough fundraiser starts this Friday (9/18/15). We are hoping that all families will participate, as this is our main fundraiser for our school.
2. Picture Day is next Friday (9/25/15). You will find a picture order envelope in your child's homework folder. Homework folders go home on Monday (9/21/15).
3. The volunteer calendar is just about done. I'm waiting on a few schedules from folks and then I'll put it all together. The volunteer calendar is set to start next week (9/21/15).
4. Homework and Take Home Books will also start next week (9/21/15).
5. If you have not yet put the yellow transportation tag on your child's backpack, please do that tonight. It so helpful and important that we know how your child will be getting home.
6. If you haven't turned in all your school forms, please do so asap! Thanks!
